Hunted a favorite older Elementary school, this morning. the results were what I expected, clad, pencil stubs, and other assorted junk. But then I thought this was a washer, but the hole was to small. I rinsed it off with my water bottle, and saw Chinese? symbols:hello2: So I put it in my pouch, or so I thought :BangHead: While at home rinsing stuff off, no coin with a hole in it??? not in the Jeep, not in the pouch, no where to be found :BangHead: Back to the School to look for it! It was near the end of the hunt so I knew where to look:icon_thumleft: Bang there it was, on top of the ground, within 5 min.:laughing7: Must have stuck to my wet muddy glove. So happy!! 103_6665.webp103_6668.webp

Appears to be a Chinese novelty token. I've found a couple like that one. I've also seen them with triangle holes. Cool find. Looks old too.

Found it in a book of world coins. It is a Japanese Yen

Don't know how good. I found the coin in World book of coins, Japenese 5 Yen, first minted in 1959104_1601.webp104_1602.webp
A good pic of both sides might aid in a complete ID of your Chinese (?) 'coin'.
Don....
