Took both my boys there this afternoon, to get some fresh air after my youngest just got over a Flu.
In less than 1 hour and only 25% of the swing-set area searched, found a dollar coin, 3 quarters, two dimes, a nickel, and 6 pennies. Also, a (silver plated?) Mickey Mouse-shaped earring set with 4 tiny semi precious stones and a "copy" 8-reale coin. Two of the quarters and the nickel are '67, '69 & '61 respectively, and were all found under the 6 inches of wood chips, and about 2-3 inches into the fill grade of the playground, or perhaps it was the natural ground, I dunno.
I was in the middle of excavating an apparent pocket-spill, into the ground, when my newly healed son said he "had to go." Maybe I'll get back out there and finish finding more '60s era coins in that hole...
