Score in central ms

I found this a few days ago. Any time I can see writing I always keep as to try to identify. Glad I did on this cause it turns out to be a lid from a 25 lbcannister of gun powder. Lots of cw relics already found on this same site.

Spratts Patent Ltd was a UK dog cakes (biscuit) company. Very collectible but not civil war. From Wikipedia: "Spratt's was the world's first large-scale manufacturer of dog biscuits. Maybe the container was used to store gunpowder?
