both coins were scored and bent and were probably in the process of being made into fractional currency(cut silver) according to an expert coin shop guy. found it in may of 2016, and 2015, found on the same farm in southeast Va

i am just guessing it wasn't circulated much before it was lost, some of my 1/2 reals are pristine others worn so thin as to be almost unreadable

You are correct many of my 1/2 reals are almost smooth, but the higher denominations look great!
