Detector(s) used
Ace 400, AT Pro, equinox 800, Simplex,Vanquish 540
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Went to a little beach Sunday, people were packed in like sardines.
Great for scoping out babes and catching some sun, but not a place to swing the detector. I am just not intrusive enough to go beep beeping in peoples faces, and I'm pretty much restricted to land with my Ace 250.
So I baked out in the sun about 4 hours until the crowd died down, and for my sunburn I found a beautiful
gold [I think] bracelet, a gold ring and an earing.
I was in an area I won't get to too often, so on the way back home I fired up the GPS to guide me to a couple elementary schools in the area.
Could tell these weren't hit recently, if ever. Got about $20 in clad, one area was like the kids has a quarter fight, there was about 20 quarters in a 3 sq ft area, plus a few $1 president coins.
Also found a silver dolphin, might be a belly button ring. A silver heart charm, and a heavy silver lock charm, that says "Please return to Tiffanies" ,,, Yeah right !
All the silver is stamped .925
The "gold" bracelet is either stamped RSE .825 or .925, don't know what to make of that.
The earring is stamped with letters so small I can't make them out, maybe 750.
Likewise for the gold ring, is marked, but damned if I can tell what.
Tested for diamonds on the bracelet & ring, negative.

Man you scored big time. All that gold would have me on a return trip asap. As far as the .825 mark goes. I have only seen that on lower grade silver before. That one has me stumped. WTG

wtg :icon_thumright: nice batch of shiny stuff

Yeah, it was worth the burn.
Dumb azz me, I'll just go towards the late afternoon next time, a huge crowd on any nice weekend is a given.
This beach is known to give up Mercs and wheaties also.

.825, I know .800 was a popular hallmark for European silver decades ago ,, As far as the gold look, its probably simply gold plated.
So my guess is European gold plated silver, 20 + years old. Maybe some of our Euro friends can give an opinion on this.
Nice find regardless, though I'd much prefer an old fashioned 14/18 k stamp.
