We are lucky that we have a contract with a very successful farming company that tends to buy at least 1 farm a year. Great way to get new permissions.:laughing7:
Today we spent 2.5 hours scouting this new land that boarder a Medieval Moated Manor House. Sadly we soon found out most of this land must have been marshland until the 18th C, so other than my lucky silver coin find it was a bust.
After lunch we moved to another failed oilseed rape field where we got a few scrappies.
5 Hour total hunt;

16 Scrappies (1 good one) - Cru'Dad found 2 fused together...
The Dog from Monopoly (That's a first)
Silver Ring (Modern)
1668 Charles II Shilling - Very rare find, if in EF condition it's over £1500! (Only found one other dateless one)

Congrats on the silver and other nice finds

That shilling is an awesome find! As you know, it's one of the very first milled coins produced after the hammered era came to a close. Milled silver coins of any kind dating from the late 1600s well into the 1700s are extremely hard to find, especially on this side of the pond. Nice going man!

Congrats! Great to have a contact like that with promising ground to hunt.

That Constantinus isn't exactly what i would call a "good" one. For me it would be an Album coin! :hello2: Congrats on the Shilling and new permission!

Late 1600s milled (other than Will III) is harder to find at Celtic Gold, so basically extremely rare.

Yes, & my first dig on that field. It's one of the sites near to Brooch Field (not Copse).

The contract (not contact), although one of the same is great but this new farm is pretty much a bust. We have one promising field to try but other than that we will be crossing off about 10 fields from the 800 list.

Love that shilling
Congrats

Thanks everyone.

Sweet finds,
Love the Charles II ...
