So I went back to a sight where I've found a few artifacts now and where there seemed to be a camp. I came across this piece and brought it home just in case. Its a slate-like material which makes me doubtful but I thought I'd post on here because I'm eager to learn more about this awesome new hobby of mine. In some ways it looks worked to me but I'm not sure. It definitely has a sharp edge but I realize it could be natural. Your opinions would be appreciated!

Also I came across a rather amusing 'discussion' from 2016 on this forum where a guy was being quite a character about his supposed finds. I'll try to to be more openminded about your opinions on my 'finds'. lol

You don’t need to go back all the way to 2016 to see some good arguments intense debates. 😬

I think that is just a rock, unfortunately. Others that know more than I do might disagree. If they do, trust their opinion.

I think it’s natural too. One thing about PA is that’s it’s flint poor. Natives used lower quality rocks when flint wasn’t available. Slate was used for cutting tools quite a bit. Rocks that don’t chip like flint are sometimes not obvious that they are tools.

Agree it is not a scraper. It looks like a natural tumbling and breakage of slate over thousands of years.

In this region (Indiana), virtually all scrapers are made from flint. While sometimes a broken slate preform may be found that is similar in form to a scraper, they were not utilized as such.

Thanks all. I'll keep looking.....
