thanks pickaway, it could be just a rock, but i found it so far away from it's natural outcropping. Another thing I read about the Calf Creek, (even if my point is Andice, it's still CalfCreek culture?) Anyway, I read that at a large find of Calf Creek site there were many unheat- treated Florence A chert scrapers. This is all new to me, so I'm sure I don't understand it all yet, but this butterscotch colored rock is unheated right? If it had been heated it would be dark red? So that's why I'm thinking it might be something. And it's ok, if it's just a rock, it was neat to find out of place like that.

it really looks like they did sharpen that edge.you sound like a very smart lady. jamey

oh no jamey, not smart, but thank you! It's just that google search thing. It is so neat to have so much information at our fingertips. I like learning new things and finding answers, it's like a game. I just wish I could retain more of it!

I always hang on to thing if they look to be an artifact. Most times they are. Like Jamey said it does appear to be worked on one side. I wish I could help you with your chert. That stuff is confusing to me. I am sure the experts from your area will chime in.Keep posting we like seeing.
Thanks
