Went out with my brother John this afternoon, the weather was perfect, but finds were few. Had a Roman bronze coin and this nice leather fitting, it's probably medieval but ive seen similar described as Roman armour fittings.

'Scratching' is the exact words Dad & I have used for what we are doing right now. We just got lucky & scratched a lucky find.

That is interesting, not sure I have seen one of those. Do you know what it was for (other than maybe amour)? Likely attached leather, but can't work out the purpose
