The rest of my family went away for the weekend so it was just me and my two year old son out for the day. I brought the detector along but with him it's almost impossible to get a hunt in. For the time I had I got three large coppers, two silver dimes, flat button and a plated fork and spoon. One coin is completely toast, the other is a nice 1861 Nova Scotia one cent and the last one is strange. It appears to have script lettering on it. I wish I could have Identified the coin to know if the script was added later like for a love token or something but it's rough. Anyone see anything like this? Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

It would appear to be a love token. Good find.

There is more along the right side of the coin but it's hard to see!

Looks like a 'C'. Seen designs incised on old coins, so not a surprise, but still a pretty rare find & one you may never repeat. Most as we know are counter-stamped or counter-marked.

NICE FINDS ..
