Hi there. I recently got the 10x14 coil for my sea hunter and the extra weight is making the thing wobble around like crazy, it always had a wobble going but I can really notice it now. Just looking to see if anyone can recommend a good shaft and also what the differences are between a long shaft and regular? Any input is appreciated, surely others have encountered this problem.

Soak it in a bathtub with some Cialis..

Gorilla tape.

I understand that Cialis is a temporary fix of the symptom and not the problem. I have no fix for you, other than to offer sympathy. There is lots of resistance in the water and if things wobble, I would be very worried about it breaking under stress.

you are correct sir !
I just broke one after finding Rev war button last week - on my XLT - it had wobble
ive broken others too - from working in rough surf for yrs -
get some salt water proof gel caulk possibly - or duck it

My Whites Dual Field, which is light weight, has a travel shaft that has three pieces. The wobble was getting bad so I epoxied the joint together with waterproof epoxy. It doesn't wobble any more, but of course it does not come apart for travel either.

I went and bought a length of aluminium tube yesterday, going to have a go at making my own shaft this weekend. Hopefully I can come up with something that works. I'll post it on here when I'm done. Man it's gonna be like Homer Simpson's "wonder bat"

Pretty much all done. Used a gpx lower shaft and handle which the guy at the detector shop was very kind to give me, had to modify them a bit to make them match. Not the prettiest thing but it doesn't wobble! Just have to sikaflex some neoprene to the arm cuff. Not yet though because that takes time to cure and I'm going to go have a swing. Happy hunting ya filthy animals.
