Sea Turtle

Well this was taken a few years ago . The kids were shore fishing at night and all of a sudden right beside where they were standing > loud splashing sounds started and this huge sea turtle crawled ashore. The kids got the scare of their lives as they thought at first it was a sea monster LOL . She totally ignored us and made her way to the fence infront of the house to lay her eggs . We then called the turtle preservation people and they came the next morning and yellow taped the area It is amazing to see turtle tracks on the beach ! They sort of look like train tracks. This turtle is a loggerhead .

You were fortunate CD....2 years ago in West Palm Beach they were nesting
and I tried in vain to get a photo of one However, the last morning
I had all but given up when a hatchling crossed my foot. I took a
few shots, saw the poor thing's frustration getting knocked
back by the waves so....making sure no one was watching
(it was early in the morning) I assisted the little fella to
the water!

save a land tortoise the other day poor follow was about ready to try to cross the "black ribbon of death" or a road as we call it ---took him back to the bushes off the road side he was a young one that didn't seem to know better ---Ivan
