Search for another CW shell continues

I was able to get out on 3 occasions this week to search for another CW shell or cannonball. I found a lot of shell and cannonball fragments , pieces of lead sabot , a 3 ringer , some roundballs/case shot and tons of miscellaneous iron and whatsits. Also found a smashed gold plated ring(not pictured). Maybe next week I'll get lucky and find another full shell.

I am on the left coast so excuse my ignorance, but is there a chance that you could stumble upon a live cannon shell intact? I would be really worried working with unexploded ordinance, than again, I would also be on a quest to find it too, lol.

Yes , Mark , I found an intact shell last week, although it was not an explosive variety. I have found "live" shells in the past. There are plenty of them out there and I love finding them. It is very advisable to have them professionally disarmed if you find one.
