It is the front of a locket. I would guess 1970's.

Darn, I'd had bracelet as correct, though not necessarily a centerpiece. It would have had enamel in the leaves and flowers, like these: chinese enamel silver carved jade bracelet - Google Search
Each side has a partial but opposite hinge, if that makes sense... Do they call them male/female hinge parts? Anyway they fit the next panel of the bracelet.
