Searching for Western Michigan Expertise...

Hola! I've wanted a metal detector for years and my dear hubby finally talked me into actually spending the money on something for myself and get one. Still don't know what one to get... the more I read the less I think I know about what to get. Anyways, just wondering if anyone here is from the Grand Rapids area? I guess I'm looking for good places to go and also wondering if there are any groups around here too. And I saw the State park restrictions. Are there other local restrictions anyone knows of? Like for parks and such? I can't wait to get started now that I'm finally going to buy one... I just don't know, just looking for any information I can get my hands on I guess.

The guy who runs prostock detectors in Plainwell probably has more knowledge of West Michigan than anyone I know of and is also involved in the west michigan metal detecting club, go to his shop and talk to him.

hi and welcome excal 1000 by minelab is the best in my book, any water spots are the best
i hunt the lakes out of the way places are the best when i lived in daytona my excal paid for it self
i have found more womens rings with the excal then any other thing out there i still dig everything
and dig deeper then sum people are willing but it can pay off big time

You should stop in to Prostock its a small store that has an old fashioned feel. Like my Dads old Shoe repair store. They are very nice there!
