Seated Dime Shot by Bullet.

Found this dime in a corn field that was once a fairgrounds which occasionally had shooting contests and exhibition shoots. It's not my oldest or nicest coin but yet it's one of my favorites. Anyone else out there find coins like this?

Yes, I found a 1944 wheat penny with a .22 bullet still in it. It was at an old hunting lodge used from the 1930s-1950s by wealthy hunters from all over North America.

I have a number of coins & tokens with holes in them because they were worn as pendants. Don't recall ever finding a coin that had been shot.

I've had this coin a long time, it was my Gramps...his story was that his friend, Peckerneck, accidentally shot him in the leg, this coin was in his pocket.
FWIW, he was a hell of a story teller.

I once found a zinc penny that had been shot with .22 bullet. It was found at an old house that had last been used as a hunt camp, so you know the guys were trying to show off their shooting skills.
