Hey all,
Long time no post on my finds, but I thought this one was pretty unique and wanted to share. Dug a silver star and it was super dark as all silver is in this spot. When I got home and cleaned it up again I was shocked when I wiped the back! Found some cigar tokens and a few other cool thing too. 20210911_181234.webp20210912_185437.webp20210912_184329.webp20210913_190635.webp

wow!...very cool and unique find! love it, congrats!

Wonder what that star was used for?

That's awesome! Do you think it may have been used as a badge? I really love the old tokens too! Thanks for posting!!

Cool item! Thanks for the great post!

I wonder if it could have been some lawman's badge? I have heard that they sometimes made them from silver dollars.

May have been a "Corp" badge from the Civil War ?
Whatever it is, it is a nice find!

Iowa Dale

Maybe a hat pin, like the Texas Hat Stars from the civil war period

That's one of the coolest things I've seen dug in a long time.

Very cool, I picture a Father making his son his own little Sheriffs badge.

How incredible is that- Congrats!!

Just like the deputies in the old days made their silver stars out of Mexican 8 Reals. Looks like someone from a long time ago found an already quite old coin and made it into a silver star pin just like the old westerners use to do, I wonder if it's from a legit deputy or just made for a child.
