Self Checkout at store

I went to Home Depot and went to the Self Checkout. After I got my change I was wondering has anyone ever pulled anything good from a Self Checkout Lane at the store? All I got was one copper penny, rest was clad.

Not yet, but hopefully one of these days. It doesn't help that I pay with a card most places.

That being said I love going into our local hardware store. They have old registers and coin dispensers that have everything loaded and visible, including halves. I always try to sneak an edge check in there. Hope to find something soon.

I only find copper too. I empty money from vending machines. Most don't accept the 90% silver coins but all of them take the silver war nickels so i'm always excited when I find them.

I spotted a silver quarter at Safeway in the cylinder used by the auto change machine. I asked if I could get it but was told that the office workers that load the coin return cylinders collected silver so they wouldn't give it to me. No point in getting in any argument but it was a bit frustrating since I spotted it. Maybe I'll go back and see if it's close to being dispensed.

You could try asking for however many dollars change in quarters and try and get it that way, then on the other hand it could be a junk Canadian quarter

Some self checkouts at Walmart take halves, if u wanna dump a few clads..............
