Self checkout machines that take halves?

Every supermarket self-checkout lane I've tried (and Home Depot too) rejects them. Seems crazy being that they are US currency. It's too bad as I could get rid $50+ dollars a week that way ... I'm sure that is what you were thinking.

I also tried the Meijers machines. I asked the person in charge of watching the area and she told me that she thought that they are suppose to accept them. I then went back in a different line to try another machine and it also did not take them so I let her know. I do not know if it will make much of a difference but being vocal cannot hurt. I think It would really help out our hobby if we could place many halves back in circulation.

I have been spending half dollars (and dollar coins) in self-checkout lanes at Giant supermarkets for over a year without incident.

But they do reject $2 bills!

I've been to Walmart's where it's the opposite. They take $2's, but reject halves.

Now this past week, I put a $2 into machine to pay for parking and it process it as only $1. That was a little frustrating.
