Got out yesterday for an hour and a half yard hunt. I was finding mostly stuff from the 40s and 50s at first. The house was built in 1904 and I found a Barber quarter in the yard next door a couple days ago so I knew there had to be some old stuff. I dug the no date buffalo and the war nickel in the same hole and started to get my hopes up. Then I got a penny signal at 3 inches, out pops a memorial cent. I put my plug back in and started to move on, but then I turned around and hit the same spot again and got a weak nickel signal. I figured ther must be a newer nickel that was with the penny so I pulled the plug and probed around. I ended up digging a few more inches down and was surprised to find another buffalo. This one had a date: 1913. I hit the hole again and had a very weak and spotty nickel/pulltab signal. If I hadn't just pulled that buffalo out of the hole, I probably would've moved on but I dug some more and found another nickel: 1910 V. Found some more coins and was getting ready to leave when I decided to dig one more shallow penny signal. Turned out to be my best find of the day: a 5c token to the Palm in Kalispell. I've started collecting Kalispell tokens so this was a sweet dig for me.

Got home and cleaned everything and found out that the buffalo was a semi key 1913d type 2. It has great detail but is discolored. I think I'll try cleaning it with some Lime Away or something.

Penny dates: '45s (2), '52d, '53s, '54s,
Nickel Dates: '10, '13d, '43s, '52
Dime: '51s

new change 94c

Thanks for looking HH

VERY NICE NICKELS !!!!! i haven't found either one of them yet. i have hunted my butt off trying to find a buffalo nickel with no luck, and then a couple of weeks ago some friends went to pittsburg, the wife found a 1934 buffalo nickel lying on the ground. it wasn't discolored, so it must have been dropped recently. she gave it to me, but that's not the same as finding it myself. good job

I know it is hard to find a buffalo with a readable date.
Way to go on all of your finds!

Congrats on the great digs. Very nice finds. I also found a Buffalo at, of all places, one of the beaches close by. It's impossible to get the date, it's a four ligged nickle. It also is a really bronze red color. It is my first and only Buffalo nickle to date. Thanks for sharing and GL & HH

;D please pardon the misspelling in the post above. Not too good at typing and my fat fingers get in the way. :tard:

When one finds nickels, it's proof positive you're doing what needs to be done MD'ing-wise!
Great job! I love those buffalos!

Real nice digs!

Tokens sooth my soul. And finding that many nickels should mean that silver's just around the corner. Congrates!
