Several silver coins and a wheatie with my boys at Seymour Johnson AFB today

Though not much, I did find 2 silver dimes, a Rooselt and Mercury, in the same hole; another Rosy, then a wheatie. Most silver I have found in one day in quite a while.

Nice finds! I found two Rosies and a Merc Tuesday. Wed. A 47' Rosie. 3 silvers

I am a civilian DOD worker, so I have free access to the base.

I work at Hill AFB Utah where I know there is alot to be found, however I was told(not by anyone in authority) that federal land could not me metal detected. Did you have to get permission or did you just go for it

I was at Shady-J from 1997-2003. I wasn't a TH-er until a few months after I left though. I'm heading down there for a wedding in October. Maybe we'll run into each other.

I just go and detect. I have since I was first in AF in 1981, never had any problems. I even got permission to detect near the WSA once, thought that was pre-9/11
