But to no avail. Lady Liberty continued her darkened slumber, jolted up and down with the thaw and frost, soaked by the rain, visited only by worms...
Decades passed. Wars were fought. Man reached the moon... and still, nothing.
But then... a beacon of hope!
"Hang on," said the Equinox at last. "I'm coming!"
And there she was in the palm of your hand... a century's worth of dirt falling away. Her silver surface shining like white fire, as the eagle on the back stretched its mighty wings once more.
"Those square nails are a *****, aren't they?" said the Equinox.
Lady Liberty only smiled into the sun.
