This is a herd of big horn sheep you can very often spot along the clear creek canyon in Colorado. I'm on my way to Ouray and into the snow country for a couple days. I guess it's pretty and all, but cold just the same.

It's amazing how these critters can move up and down those cliffs. Beautiful animals! Keep your snow please :tongue3:

Nice photo! It's amazing how many city folk would not be able to to spot them from the road at that distance. Looks like a mature ram, and would score pretty high in the books (185+).

Which one OD,I see two different rams there?

Him and I have met before.

Probably both, but was referring to the ram in the third photo. It's not that easy to judge size from a frontal pose. You should maybe know that?

Pics 2 and 3 are the same animal. I zoomed out in the 2nd to show him with his harem around and the 3rd is zoomed in to get a closer look at him.

My bad Grant. The one in the second pic isn't as broken up,more of a full curl. :dontknow:

Thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

I like how that big Ram is watching you in the second pic, awesome picture.

That's his job I guess. The Ewes just keep on feeding and never look up, but kinda move along as the ram does. He was concerned some about my presence. It didn't take long before two other cars pulled in with people getting out with their camera's. At that point the ram began moving the herd along higher up the hillside.

Keep an eye on the weather. Snowing right on down here now.

No worries now, I did a quick in and out of the Rockies this week, due to the quick changes in the weather up your way. Twas high and dry over Fremont and the tunnels it was. I don't believe we'll be getting snow down here this week, but I haven't ask Alexa what she thought yet. My trip to Ouray was unusually peaceful, as there wasn't much traffic at all, until I got down here and ran smack dab in the middle of the rush hour traffic. Then I said to heck with what what Jesus says about how my heart should be towards his fellow children. No big it's just the thorn put in me to remind me to once again to seek his peace and harbor loving thoughts, towards others around me.

Doesn't look like you guys will get much out of this. We got about 8 inches so far in the valley and still coming. I70 E. bound shut down at Silverthorne due to a crash. Of course.

Great pictures!
