Shingles Vaccine .. Anybody had it?

I think it was in 2 parts a few weeks or months apart.

if I remember right only effect was the 2nd shot felt like I had a bruise
a few days after when i bumped or brushed against something.

I had shingles on my forehead above my right eye.
thankfully the dr. noticed what it was early.
was no big deal to me. I actually felt those with it must be exaggerating the pain. so I never learned :tongue3:
many years later the scar is still there.
and is tender like half the skin between my forehead and skull isn't there.

when I was advised of the shot I jumped at the chance.
though I think it's not a cure all against it

Any side effects?
No side effects for me, but I had mine when it was only a one shot deal. My mom has had it twice, not fun, and she got the shingles shot after the second time. Not a cure-all, you can still get it but like the Covid shot, I think it mitigates some of the effects and it may not last as long.

Nerves cause the shingles, heavy sudden stress out.
My Bro' showed up when I was in a treatment centre when I was try to get better from the drugs.
Broke out under the arm on the rib cage.
Sore for a bit, got some drugs to help heal it, never will take that jab.

From what I have been reading, there are a lot of things that can trigger shingles. My wife and I just lost a friend to complications from shingles. He suffered for 8 years with them.

I also lost a long-time friend due to complications from shingles.

The Shingrix vaccine is about a 97% effective against the disease. Shingrix is a recombinant zoster vaccine (doesn't use live virus) but it can still cause side effects. These side effects are just your body's way of letting you know your immune system is working properly.

It is stated that, if you had chicken pox, you have the bug for shingles lurking around in your body. The Wife and me had the shot and no side effectseffectseffectseffects.:laughing7:

The Last "Vaccine or shot" (((of any kind))) I've had was back in 1970 . Think I'm starting now LOL:laughing7:

My Wife and I had the shot and no side effect - probably 3 or 4 years ago

although rare, I had shingles as a young child., I got the shot at age 60 with no effects from the shot at all . I knew a man who got shingles in his eye and is now blind in that eye. we all do our own thing , this is the first year in 30 years I haven't got a flu shot . I just didn't feel like it this year .

My wife has gotten both shots, the second just yesterday, and a sore arm and some bruising where she got the shot, but that for her is normal as she tenses up and it causes the bruise.

I got it several years ago,no side effects but I never have side effects from vaccines.

My doctor advised me you don't want shingles I'll take his word on it. I had my first shot a week ago the next day I seemed really tired. My wife got Her first shot also said it hurt and sore the next day we got them while shopping at Target.

I am the odd ball as I had reactions to both doses. I was in bed the next day feeling like warmed over death after both shots. I got them about 6 months ago.

I got the first shingrix shot about a year ago with nothing more than a little sore arm and was no problem.

About 2 months ago I got my Covid booster shot in the right arm early in the morning. Later that same morning I got the second shingrix shot along with the flu shot the in the left arm. I’ll tell you what; that left arm hurt like hell for about 5 days. Sore to move or touch.

I had a mild case of shingles on my stomach about 6 yrs ago. My Dr gave me a bunch of horse tablets and it went away in a few days. I asked him at the time about the vaccine. He said studies were only done (at that time) on folks that hadn't had an outbreak before the shot. You may want to ask about that.
