Hi everyone. I have not been on in a few days. I took a little break from detecting and caught up on some things that I let slack. I had the fever today bad. I got up at the crack of dawn and headed out. I hit a few different spots today. My son ended up finding a nice Blue Ball (No Pun intended) Jar in a creek today. He also found a copper spoon. (Think its copper anyway) I stated at a beach and pulled some clad and a Cherry belly button ring. I went on to a park that I found on Google Earth and picked more clad and a 1940 wheat penny. I was certain the wheat penny came in with some fill dirt because the park seems newer. I nailed my first dollar. I was really excited about this one. My wife dug a Susan B Dollar once and reminds me all the time that she has one and I dont. This will end that brag session. lol. I was growing tired and getting very sloppy with my swing so I figured I would follow the river down and get a good look at the rest of the park. Well I am a Detecting Addict (Hello everyone I'm Mike :laughing9: ) so I could not bring myself to turn the ace 250 off. I figured even fast sloppy swings would pick up some targets. Bing, Bing, Bing. I took a couple steps back and a solid 50 cent signal. I said whatever and took a half step before swinging every angle with a solid 50 cent hit every angle. :icon_scratch: I was extremely curious at this point. I was tired but it had to be dug. I could not believe my eyes. This is the one coin that I wanted to dig from the very moment of swinging my first detector. A Walking Liberty Half Dollar. This was my golden egg. I always wanted to dig one of them. I never and I mean never thought I would pull one of these babies from a park! What are the odds! I am so siked! It made my little break worth the wait.

Thanks for looking and sharing in the capture of my White Rabbit! :headbang:

:icon_thumleft:Great finds. I think the 'liberty walking' is one of the nicest looking U.S. coins ever made next to the morgan dollar. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone. I really don't know how old the park is. Everything built is new but it is along a river so, who knows if the park was rebuilt or possibly this beauty just fell out of some poor fishermans pocket. I have to agree with sscindercoop..... I could not believe the shape this coin was in. The detail really is truly amazing!

Yes Goldguru, The extra swings did pay off. The only problem now is I will not EVER want to turn the detector off now. lol

The Mercury Dime is my favorite us coin but, the size and beauty of the walker does overshadow the merc.

Thanks for everyones replies.... Happy hunting to us all.
