Hi, Friday the 13th Went to check out the surf from the Nor'Easter here in Cape MAy ,NJ .10-15 wave height and up to 59 mph wind gusts . Raining for days now . While looking around at the heavy erosion of the beach. I found this by sight . 9" long , 5/8 " square ,rosehead ,timber spike , from old shipwreck !! actual size is larger than picture ,for reference. Check out the bend on this nail
alot of torque to cause that damage. I saw other pieces of iron and debris ..in the surf , but it was getting too dangerous. Some coins will wash in from this wreck ,documented British 44 gun, sunk off this area . I hope to find old stuff ,this weekend . Anywhere on the coast will be a potential treasure hunt , because of so many wrecks offshore, so "Get out there gang". Thanks for looking CMD
