Given the great weather, I wet out and started scouting for a few picket post off of main camp we have hunted in the past. I dug a few bullets and 3 buttons.. I started a thread a few years back about the depth we were getting on some of the 3 ringers.. This one is only 12" in the ground vs. some of the larger .69 three ringers we were getting at 14 +. It was called in to question about how did I know they were that deep since the depth on the DFX does not report relics this deep (the DFX only display to 12.5 inches was the actual quote I believed. , so I thought I would add some pictures of some deepish ones. The was in the middle of a large very dry field!! The Lesche is about 11" so this standard issue .577/.58 was a touch over the 12" mark.. not too bad for hunting such conditions.

Buried to the hilt I would say. Like good deep targets especially lead. Nice digs.

Nice MB! With the length of the lesche and the small growth on the field, looks like at least 13-14" :headbang: :headbang:

Nice hunt there Monkey. :headbang: That flower button has alot of gilt on it...really pretty button! Should be some more stuff around there.

That's a deep bullet. I thought only Minelab's could get that deep. ;D
Congrats on all the nice finds.

HA! Nice.. no.. a properly tuned White's can punch pretty deep!!! I had the 12" coil on too... lots of field to cover!! I have dug .69 three ringers at 16".. in nice loamy soil in a huge wooded lot... that stirred up a little too much.. flak on T-net for me sooo don't really want to go down that subject path again!! ;-)

That IS a deep one Mark...Gilted flower look's great :icon_thumright:

Good stuff. Yes sir that one is a deep one. I've found one or two at that depth with my F75. Most of ours around this area are in the 5-8 inch range. Great picture... :headbang:

Have you heard of a spade, would have had that out in 10 seconds  :D

PS. how is Jnr doing?

Ha! Yes... the initial hole was dug with a shovel... the Lesche was used just for the last couple of inches and then to give the hole depth some "perspective"...

MB Jr is doing well!! we got out today in the same spot but didn't do very well... a couple bullets, one button and the broken bottom of a stirrup...

Awesome finds :icon_thumright:

Nice finds, could you post how you had your V3 set up. I'm not getting that much depth out of mine. That's why I started hunting relics with a F75.
