Tonight after work I had a some time to kill so I headed accross the road to the hay field. I must start off be saying that this field has been good to me. My first hunt in the field was last fall. I have found, 3 Draped Bust Large Cents, 1 Classic Head, 1 George Washington Inaugural Button, my first Walking Liberty Half, other silver coins and MANY old relics. How much can there be in this field.
Tonight I hunted for about 20 minutes before the deer flies and my back told me it was time to go home. I dug only two targets. the first was a modern fired bullet. The second as I was wildly swinging on my way home was a nice 1863 Indian Head Cent! The signal was reading 16 - 18 on my Minelab. This usually ends up a pulltab or other junk. To my surprise a fatty was staring up at me.
I am happy with how she cleaned up.
Here are some before and after pics.

Thanks for lookin' VPR

Great IH. It's funny when you think about that 1863, we weren't very "United".

Thanks for the replies ! This is my first fatty and a nice one too. I guess that I can cross it off my "Hope to find list"
