Hi all,
Managed to get out for a short early hunt this morning. My first target I knew was silver, registered like a quarter, but for some reason, silver dimes at this place register like quarters as well. Pulled the plug, saw the rim barely pointing through on the edge of the plug and knew I had a Quarter! Hoping it was a SLQ (very high on my list as I haven't found one), I also knew most the stuff I've pulled from this site was 30's-40's stuff, and alas reality hit and it was a George. Water couldn't get all the mud off; in the field, the date appeared to be 1940-D, which would have been a semi-key date, but when I got home and cleaned it better saw that it was a 1948-D, still cool.
My second signal sounded soooo much like a silver dime, it had that sound, unfortunately it was a greeny (slimy green) wheat 46-D.
