I have found someone at the musuem in CMU who want too see my 7 Inch Gorget and cant authenticate it, but wants too verify its Indian origin and have me take it too the Chippewa Indian Res. too have it authenticated, or confiscated under some law I know nothing about.. thats my opinion.. need all the help I can get on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I say no way....I do believe it would be confiscated, IMHO the Native American Graves Protection and Reparations act goes way to far in regards to American artifacts, and for that matter human remains....they seem to want to claim anything buried in the ground before Columbus got here..no questions or research allowed.

It's your thing - if you want to keep it, then keep it to yourself.

If you want to have it (possibly) stolen, confiscated, or whatever - give it to the archie who will take credit for the find because he is aware you have it.

If you want to give it back to the natives who's ancestors made it - go ahead.

If you want to sell it - sell it.

Personally I know what I'd do... but you have to make your own decision.
