This pendant is from Eaton County Michigan, originally in the Hawkes collection. Its 4 9/16 inches long and 1 15/16 wide.

All I have is soap stone! Very nice piece I like seeing the slate.
 

Yeah no slate around here, just shale… not so good for artifacts
 

'Shield' type bannerstone; banded slate (I think...) ; found in Holly, NY in 2019 by a bottlehunter digging around a stream bank! The damage looks worn, with consisstent patina, so I think it's an old break.
