You should do o.k. there if you take your time. Google the tide schedule for that area and learn when the low tide will be out. Get there just before low tide, make sure you turn down the sensitivity of the 250 until it doesn't go crazy in the wet sand, turn your discriminate down low also or you won't find gold and then hunt just above the wave line on the shore. That is a good way to water hunt without being in the water. When the tide is out, you are standing on ground that is normally knee deep to waist deep when people are wading and swimming in the Gulf at full tide.

The Key has produced some good items. You just have to work hard to find them. Make sure you take a good shovel or better yet a beach scoop if you have one!

Good luck!!!!

Siesta is really trashy and difficult right now. Hunt the edges of the more densely populated area up north at access 5. Better yet go north just a tad to lido key and hunt south lido park along the pass and curves around to wide open beach as you move north.

The tourist areas in front of the pavilions on siesta and lido are trashed out bad right now with tons of can slaw. North end of lido is not to bad. First access after you get around the circle.

Check with the life guards to find out if any beach goers lost anything. If you get some real deep signals, they might be .50 caliber shell casings from World War 2. There used to be targets of German tanks and trucks made out of plywood. Army Air Corps planes would strafe the beaches. So shell casings and bullets can be found from time to time. Good Luck. ;D

I was at lido this afternoon, Lots of deep target hits, but waves breaking pretty good so i was unable to get anything top side . holes kept filling up with water , There is some nice long cuts out there. LIDO is your best bet ... Good luck ... guzz1
