Siesta Key/ Venice Beach

I plan on vacationing in this area in early April 2009. Is there any nearby shipwreck areas or good beach detecting sites? Any info would be much appreciated.

Tony....many good beach/water detecting sites from Siesta Key to Venice Beach....west coast a bit thin when it comes to ship wrecks.....rdi

So my dreams of finding Spanish silver just washed up on the beach are... well... just dreams?

Well I would be happy to swing the Explorer over some rings anyway...

You will have plenty of nice beaches to hunt but like rdi said shipwrecks are far and few Give a holler when you get here maybe we can hook up for a hunt. I hunt that area all the time along with about thrity other guys LOL,,

I've been thinking about hitting crescent beach sometime, be sure to post your experience .

Nudels ......was at Crescent Beach a few weeks back, not much luck...sanded in real bad....like much of the west coast.....rdi
