Found this impressionist style pastel oil on canvas at a local thrift store run by 'H for H' today. Price marked was $15 but rang up as $11.25.
S Reed is the artist. Canvas measures 20"x24". There are some examples of this collection on eBay but my frame is much nicer than those listed.
This one might be going on the local auction block. 20181201_141821.webp

A great find! That frame is amazing. No dings, very nice!

Yes, the frame is in outstanding condition. Probably worth a hundred bucks by itself. The piece came from a place called Gallery Nine in St. Louis.
There is a body of water and several sail boats in the background that are hard to see in the pic. Sorry about the sideways upload. It always happens when I post from my 'smart' phone.

Beautiful painting and frame! :occasion14:

Great find. I always look for signed paintings or photographs at yard sales and thrift stores. Have scored some great minor finds but worth under $2000. But paid less than $50. Plus I liked three of the paintings I found.
