I found this at my yearly neighborhood wide garage sales. It was signed and I loved the look so I had to take it home with me.

I can make out the Herzog signature but have no idea on the first name. Too bad it’s not Hermann O. That would really make my day lol

If anybody can ID it as a pro artist, id greatly appreciate it. If it’s just amateur work, I’m keeping it in my room.

Looks like decor art to me. Got a picture of the back?

As requested. The couple that sold this painting were German and had it handed down to them from from their parents.

It doesn’t look that old on the back but who knows.

I see there is writing on the back of the frame, but can only make out 1-35. I don't think there is much more than decor value to the painting.

Here it is. The canvas is a 24 x 48

Well a reverse image search is not pulling anything and I have not been able to find a matching signature. I would not be surprised if it is a non pro who painted it in their free time. Sorry to disappoint.

I'm not disappointed in the slightest. I had a feeling this was a possible self taught/amateur piece but i love it. I've been looking for a big piece to hang above my bed and since the other options at that sale were sad clown portraits, i'm happy with the ocean scene

karl herzog? hermann herzog?

Definitely not Hermann and Karl signed his with a K. Herzog. Ill stop by the couples house and speak with them later this week The items they were selling were from their parents house so they might have more to unload at the house. Ill ask if it was painted by family or if they know when/where the painting was acquired

Check Ebay. If it is Herman Herzog, you may have some money!

It isn't Herman Herzog. No where near the skill and technique. As was said above, probably painted by a hobbyist.

Looks cool anyway
