Hello all,
Yesterday was a bust, tried a new spot at a 1909 school and oldest coins were a couple 1960-D memorials.
But today was awesome! Got out to a late 1800s/early 1900s part of town with plenty of curb strips. My difference last year to this year is more of my hunts have been in more affluent parts of town and I’ve been much more aggressive with permissions. First good find was a solid 11-41 at 1-2 inches which ended up being a well worn 1918 Mercury dime! Across the street at less than an inch an 11-44 ended up being a 1944 wheatie. Two feet away I got a solid 11-15 which I normally don’t dig bc it’s almost always a pull tab but due to being semi close to the wheatie I decided to dig it. Signal was under a root and very stubborn but glad I stuck with it as out popped a 10K plumb gold ring with 7 tiny diamond chips!! Weighs in at 3.7 grams and I believe has some age to it. The hallmark is either MAG or MAC inside a diamond, don’t know who the makers are, any help would be appreciated. Last good find was an aluminum thimble which I think might be my first.
