It was calling for the weather to be beautiful today and it was. Damnails and I met at daylight and went to a place that we have only hunted a couple times. This was the first hunt for me at this site IMG_20170121_155350970.webp

with the CTX and him with the Deus and we smoked it! We both made some great finds and really enjoyed the day. Here is my take for the day and I'll let him show his. I found twelve bullets including round balls with three bullets that were pulled. This leads us to believe it was a camp. We both found lots of camp lead and I also found some bucky balls. I found a button back and my best find of the day was a Confederat scripted I button that is in bad shape, but I'll take a Confederat button in any shape. I also found two brass rivets and a small buckle.
I always seem to be the one to find the out of place finds, and today was no different. Right after my last two bullets, I started for the truck and got a slamming signal on the Beast at 6 inches and just new it was a beer can when out poped a 1924 mercury dime. You just never know. Thanks for looking.

I like it RN. Pulled bullets are fun to find aren't they? WTG, Q.

Thanks Q, and yes they are. You can clearly see the ramrod markes on the end of the bullets were they wouldn't go down the dirty barrel. It's cool to think about the solder screwing the worm in to pull the bullet and probably cussing the whole time. It's also cool to know I am the first person to hold it since he threw it down.

RN, it's fun to see the different sizes of screw pullers used to remove the bullets and balls too. HH, Q.

Very nice relic hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

SO how much bigger has your arm gotten since you've been swinging the beast? Are you using the stock coil or have you gone for the 17"? No matter what coil you are using, the beast is finding the goods. Congrats on another successful relic hunt rn. :occasion14:

Lol! I've been swinging the stock coil, although I do have the small one but haven't used it much yet. Even though this machine is heavier than my ATPro, the balance makes it a dream to use. I still have a lot to learn but I am very pleased so far.

Maybe I'll have to sell off a few finds, still take out a loan and get me one of those Beasts. :headbang:

Nice finds, the button is cool. I would love to have that one in any condition as well. Congrats.

Excellent hunt,, I'm still waiting to hear about some results using the 17 inch coil. I know you're a civil war guy but I really like the Mercury Dime.
Congrats on a sweet hunt.

WOW. Very well done sir. You got lots of goodies.

Congrats and good luck you!

Nice finds and I learned something new about (pulled) bullets today! :icon_thumleft:
