Hi all. Hope everyone is well. During my last hunt with my Equinox in a field close to my house i managed to find a nice 1943 6d silver coin stuck in concrete and a home made copper or brass ring. The grass is long in the fields now so its a struggle to find good targets, cant wait for winter time when they cut the long grass. This is the 3rd time in 5 years of hunting that i have found coins stuck in concrete. The other 2 coins were just copper pennies. I hope to get out tomorrow for a hunt at a old park and hopefully will have more finds to post.

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting to all

He's in South Africa. The coin dated 1943 would be a King George VI six pence.

The only thing I found in concrete was in a piece of foundation upended by a back hoe, and there was a nice ink well bottle in it, took a little time to chip it out. Kind of cool, but I would much rather have the silver coin that you found Brenden, you just never know when and where.

Nice find Brendan. That would make a nice little showpiece.

If the concrete is associated to a house's structure then it's done by the workmen as a good omen type ritual. We have discussed these in the pass, some where placed over doors, some in the roof beams etc...
Leave it as is!

Nice!!! Congrats!!! Silver’s Good any way We get it!!

That's pretty cool. I'd leave it just like that. Nice finds.

Congrats on the silver! I found 2 wheat pennies in chunks of concrete at sites from the mid 1900’s last year. I think it was a good luck thing to drop in a coin. Nice that yours was
Silver!

That is a really cool find, Brendan. I have found coins in road black top but never in concrete. As stated by another, I would leave it like it is. That is a nice way to display it.

very awesome, display piece as is

Very nice finds, Congrats!!!

Was the coin completely hidden in the concrete?

Nice Brendan. I’ve never seen that before. Very unique. Nicely done!!

I have found wheat pennies under floors, particularly hardwood floors, placed there by the installer to indicate the year of installation.
