Dug this 1899 Barber Dime last weekend at an old Church.
It was down 5" or 6" under the roots of an old Cedar tree.

When I put this coin in my album I noticed that out of the (29) Barber Dimes I've found that only (4) have 1800's dates. Yes, they were minted twice as many years in the 1900's and mintage numbers also went up due to population growth.
Just curious ... are you guy's finding similar ratios ?

Very nice Barber. Congratulations!

Good find ! All my older dimes were found in church yards. A dime is what most people put in the plate back then.

Very nice find.......All the Barber Dimes I ever found were minted in the 1900's. I've only dug one Barber Quarter so there's no numbers to compare but it was dated 1893, if that means anything.

My ratio is exactly 1:1. I have found one 1895 Barber and one 1901 Barber. Hopefully more to come.
