Yesterday out on the hunt...I had a map of 1950s Tucson with me and decided to hit the eastern-most school built back in the day. As I pulled up, the obvious spot to hunt would be the dirt area in front of the school(most of the school grounds was fenced with locked gates). However, thinking this area had probably been hit many times before, I decided to start the hunt OUTSIDE the fenced area--the trail where kids walking to school might use--and hopefully overlooked by other detectorists. I got lucky. After about 15 minutes, I hit upon a borderline signal and after pinpointing..might be a coin. Out came the 1952 S dime--nice and shiny. How it is in the pics is how it came out of the ground. The hunt thus became interesting. After another 45 minutes, no more goodies, but nice to go home with a silver. I know it ain't much but here in the Old Pueblo, it is slim pickings and I'll take whatever I can get. Four silvers in the last 2 months--kind of a streak. Silver coin number 30. HH.
