I have had a feeling that my F70 would find old silver because it hit so hard on clad at various depths.
I hit a farmers yard last night for about an hour and had a chance to dig some silver and some other
interesting stuff. I had found two wheat pennies but nothing else when the locket hit as a quarter toward
half. It his so hard I could read it with the coil three or four inches above the ground. Locket opens but
doesn't appear it had anything inside.
The mercs came next and they were 1934 and 1935. The last one was very faint with a signal jump from
70 to 80 from all directions. I dug a six inch plug and still had to remove two or three inches of dirt to find the dime.
I was using the small coil and it was great to be able to drop it into the hold and bring the signal up. You knew you
had something good with a lock and still more depth to go.
I found the "Corn Award" last. It will be cleaned up and given to this farmer. His family is very active in seed corn
production. This award was given in 1941 as an Indiana growers award for 65 bushels for five acres, "The Five Acres
Club". Just need to put this detector over some more silver.
