Today I was able to secure permission to hunt a 200 acre farm. This place has what is left of an an OLD apple orchard. My research tells me that these trees were bearing fruit in 1798. The owner of the property said that the "spot" was settled in the 1780's.
He is in the process of building a new house and barn. The original house and connected buildings burned last year. He and his family lost everything. Anyway.....
I spent about an hour wildly cruising the property to kinda check it out. No real serious searching yet.
Lots of junk, a couple of buttons, 1911 Wheat, 1942 Washington, copper chunk, and a whatzit.
The copper has me wondering
I found it about 400 yards from the nearest building. The whatzit looks like some sort of spreader
On the next trip I will get some pics. You wont belive how awsome this place is. The owner, Mr. Wilson, has owned the property since 1973 and it has not been detected since ha has owned it.
