Very interesting. It looks like it was handmade. I wonder if it was made from a coin?

appears to be a school pin from that time, though the pin on the back is missing. sweet find! perhaps a teachers pin. Good luck!!!

Cool find Henry. Just wanted to say hey... you are a lucky man to hunt a site like that. One day my time will come, (been hoarding "junk" all my life just recently started metal detecting)... last weekend we got run off a farm north of Mt. P. by a grumpy uncle of a girl I was with (her mom was fine with it but not him)...this past weekend we went out to a place near the Edisto River, old Westvaco property...shot in the dark middle of nowhere, just a place to go with permission... got skunked... nice drive and nice day in the lowcountry though....

Thanks for posting your finds.

What is the owl holding? A pen and a torch?

Trying to guess what the owl is holding. The one object looks like a sewing needle. Perhaps the back had a wire looped to thread a needle instead of a clasp or pin? Reminds me of a quilting needle threader. Monty
