Silver & Gold

[CASPER-2]

Hit a couple of salt water spots on the Cape
both spots have been heavily hit by locals - most of my finds were recent drops
rectangle is an IPOD and only got some new drop coins and a junk ring
next spot I got a few new coins - place was clean walked for couple hours with not much to show
large ring turned out to be silver - it was there a little while - It was blackening
feel it was missed because it was in some serious rocks - was only an inch of sand
then - clunk - rocks ...it took some work to get it out - then I looked inside and
could not see any markings ...so I thought I had a junker - later after my GF
looked it over and she handed it back to me did I see the small markings on its
edge. My eye sight is shot and markings were so small even with loupe I could
not make them out - handed to my gal and she saw 925 - with close up setting
was able to see in photo. The gold was dumb luck - I was heading out and was in like
knee deep water - got a loud solid pop and thought it was going to be a new penny
I had found a few when I entered the water and was heading out deep - was
surprised when I looked in scoop and saw gold - made the day

Nice going on the gold and silver, good hallmarks will date that one nicely. Well done Casper and thanks for recovering the bottle shard, you saved somebody a whole lot hurt in the future.

I don't believe the ring is very old - Ive seen many hallmarks over the years - don't recognize these
guessing they are European - not UK
around the ring are good luck symbols and religious symbols
it has a Hindu Om - a 4 leaf clover - Egyptian eye of Rah symbol - plus the ones you can see and a few I cant make out

I think it's from France as it has the prominent Channel logo on it!

Thanks for identifying that symbol - ive found sunglasses by Chanel in past with their mark on sides
good thing I decided to take pic of that side of the ring - could not find my ring with quick search
but their stuff does not go cheap - it wont be going in with the low class silver - thanks again

You're most welcome! I'm glad that you took the pic on that side too. I LOVE Chanel and it most certainly doesn't go cheap that's for sure!
