In 1874, Ralph Lodge purchased approximately 135 acres of land which included Silver Lake. It was his dream to turn it into a park. He was very successful and eventually had accumulated over 600 acres. It was a very popular amusement park/resort, playing host location to many community events and company/organization picnics in Summit County, Ohio. Thousands of people attended daily and big events would draw 10,000 - 20,000 visitors. The success of this dream continued until its last season of 1917.
I’m not in this area, but I thought I would pass the information on. I would think that any of the homes or businesses in this area could potentially have something sweet and old. Maybe someone has already found old coins and/relics from here. I would love to see some pictures if you have! Or post a link to your past threads.
