Went for a short hunt at a colonial farm yesterday. The area is now woods.
I found a two dime spill which is a first for me. I also found
what I thought was a piece of grapeshot or a small cannonball.
After looking at it I believe it's a lead ox knob. Has anyone else
found one like this? You can tell by the shape of the two holes on the
side that it had a square nail through it. It weighs 92.8 grams and
is 32 mm wide and 25 mm wide. The inside is cone shaped. Can
anyone help with a date as it seems ox knobs of lead are less common?
