Was hunting a couple beach spots Sunday and dug a few quarters down in the black sand. There were some with a red and some black. Didn't realize until today one was a 1943 silver quarter. I thought they were black because of the black sand. This spot I need to keep an eye on. May turn into a real honey hole.

Only have found a bicentential dollar coin, which most likely is not silver, but could be.
Since ssilver finds are few and far between, where I hunt, it's getting harder to remember
those kinder gentler times, when coins had value based on their metal content.

Who knows, some day the government(s) may recall all those copper covered zinc pennies and recycle their metal for cans. Oops! Parden my mistake - they are not even good for that as cans are made of tin. ???
