Hello everyone, I found this silver plated item. I’ve been told it’s a button dating 16th-17th century. Is this correct and if so does anyone have any more info regarding it? Many thanks and happy hunting!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice looking button, congrats on the save

When asking for help on the ID you need to supply more information, photo of the reverse and if there is any backmarkings, a little of the known history of where it was recovered, what else was found with it in the general area, how deep. Some button experts on here will wey in on it. GL with the ID

Thanks for the advice for some reason the reverse photo hadn’t uploaded. It was found at about 8” down on pasture. Using the equinox 800 with a solid target ID of 13. We have found roman finds being the oldest so far. Unfortunately there are no back marking that can be seen and the shank has unfortunately broken off.

Many thanks
Mike
