Nice Job, nice silver spoon

You need to do a gold acid test on it for silver. FYI Coin Silver does not contain silver and is mostly Nickel

Your spoon is not "inland" but "inlaid". What this means is that it was put through a process that Holmes and Edwards used near the turn of the century onward. It was the adding of silver to edges of the flatware that would be more likely to have wearing down of the silver plate that covered the utensil. This link can explain what I am saying, but basically your flatware is a plated spoon with silver doubled at the most vulnerable spots.

I think you mean german silver isnt silver its nickle.Coin silver is exactly that,90% silver. Its called coin silver because silver coins were often melted down to make utensils.

Would u no what they used as a core, its not copper

Thank goodness it wasn't actually Sterling - to chop a sterling spoon in half would have been a crime against the treasure gods :laughing7:
