Silver & TNet Buddies

I received an invite from TNet member P@tch for a little hunt last week. He most graciously lined us up an area to hunt. Elderly TNet member Smittyman showed up for The festivities too. Neither of them found anything, except a heaping helping of disappointment.

I got 52 coins, as usual most of them were modern.



I was thrilled to stumble across a few shiny coins.



I got a nice high tone, you know, like a half dollar, but it’s never a half dollar, as usual, it turned out to be a piece of copper pipe... but wait a coin was in the hole too... and it’s a nickel!



It was a nice slick black Buffalo nickel, not rusty red like most of the ones I find.



Here is a picture of all of the goodies, a few wheaties, and 3 silvers, Rosie, Merc and war nickel, plus a marble!

Interesting nickel. I wonder if the copper laying next to it caused the slick black patina? And you found 52 coins and your hunting partners found nothing? Either you're real good or they're real bad. Gary

Thats fun to hunt with other tnetters Ive hunted with many tnetters here in Mi always a blast. Thats a good hunt some nice coins and a coin in the pipe thats cool it wasnt a half but ID take it.. Great post Tom........
